It only takes 15 minutes to prepare shrimp in a delicious glaze. A mixture of Chinese plum sauce, ketchup, and rice vinegar creates a perfectly balanced flavor. Stir it into the fried shrimp to evenly coat them, sprinkle with green onions, and you're done! Serve with steamed white rice and enjoy this simple yet delicious Asian-inspired dish.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 600 g medium shrimp, peeled, deveined and tailed
  • 1/4 cup Chinese plum sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp. l. peanut butter
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced ​​(white parts separated from green parts)
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp finely chopped peeled ginger root
  • 3 tbsp. l. rice vinegar without salt
  • Cooked white rice, for serving (optional)

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a small bowl, combine plum sauce, ketchup, soy sauce and red pepper flakes and set aside.
  2. Season the shrimp with salt and black pepper. Heat the peanut oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook, stirring occasionally, until cooked through, 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a plate.

  3. Add the white part of the green onion, garlic, and ginger to the pan and cook, stirring constantly, until the onion is soft, about 1 minute. Add the vinegar and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Add the plum-ketchup sauce and bring to a simmer.
  4. Return the shrimp to the pan along with the green onions and stir. Divide among four plates and serve with white rice.
