Spicy Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp - A Detailed Recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 16 jumbo king prawns, tails on, peeled
  • 2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and cut into thin strips
  • 250 g thin slices of bacon, cut in half
  • 110 g butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Hot sauce, if necessary
  • Special equipment: 16 toothpicks soaked in water
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

    Split 1 shrimp and place 2 or 3 jalapeño strips in the center. Lift the sides of the shrimp and wrap half a slice of bacon around it. Secure with a toothpick (soaked in water) and place on a baking dish. Repeat with the remaining shrimp, jalapeño, and bacon.
  • Step 2
  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan, stir in the garlic, and season with salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Dip the shrimp in the mixture. Bake the shrimp until the bacon is cooked through and the skin is crisp, 25 to 30 minutes.
