This appetizer of prosciutto-wrapped dates stuffed with cheese offers a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and smoky flavors, making it unique and perfect for special occasions. For the cheese filling, combine mascarpone with equally creamy but more pronounced goat cheese. Finely chopped basil added to the cheese adds an even more vibrant flavor. Pitted dates are easy to stuff by slicing them open. To assemble, wrap the stuffed date in a thin slice of prosciutto and secure with a skewer or toothpick. The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 60 g goat cheese, room temperature
  • 60 g mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 16 medjool dates (350 g), pitted
  • 8 thin slices prosciutto, halved lengthwise

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
