The beauty of squirt cookies is that you can shape them into almost any shape using the included discs. Kids especially love these shaped cookies, and you can experiment with flavors just as much as with shapes. For example, these cookies are filled with refreshing lime notes, and to match the flavor, tint some of the dough light green. The whole thing takes less than an hour, and you'll get a ton of cookies. Perfect for parties with lots of kids, but adults won't refuse these treats either.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Position racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven; preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl. In a large bowl, beat the butter, powdered sugar, and lime zest with a mixer on medium-high speed until fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until smooth. Reduce mixer speed to medium-low; add the flour mixture and beat until fully combined.
- Transfer two-thirds of the dough to a separate bowl and set aside. Add green food coloring to the remaining third of the dough and mix with a mixer.
- Assemble the cookie press according to the manufacturer's instructions. Place about 3 tablespoons of plain batter into the press, then 3 tablespoons of green batter, followed by another 3 tablespoons of plain batter. Pipe the batter, about 2.5 cm apart, onto two ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake, rotating the baking sheets halfway through, until the cookies are set but not browned, 10 to 12 minutes.
- Let cool on the baking sheets for 3 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
