It combines everything so many people love in a good snack: crispy yet chewy, spicy yet with sweet, salty, and smoky notes, and topped with a sesame seed topping. Thick slices of bacon are essential to ensure they don't break apart when glazed with brown sugar in the oven. This spicy, candied bacon can be served as a snack with drinks, or used in sandwiches, salads, and as a garnish for main courses.

  2. Place the bacon on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 325°F (160°C), rotating the pan and turning the bacon slices halfway through, until the bacon is caramelized, 30 to 40 minutes.
