Boiled condensed milk in less than an hour—it's possible! A slow cooker will come to the rescue, and you won't have to worry about the can exploding. Condensed milk is cooked in an open can in a slow cooker using the pressure cooker setting, resulting in a perfect, caramelly, and delicious result. And if you add a spoonful of vanilla extract, you'll get the Spanish delicacy dulce de leche. Add it to your desserts, enjoy it with ice cream, pancakes, porridge, and cookies.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 can (400 g) of condensed milk with sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Special equipment: Instant Pot multicooker with a capacity of 6-8 liters.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Place a rack in the bottom of the multicooker and pour in 10 cups of water. Open the can of condensed milk, then wrap it completely tightly in foil.
  2. Place the jar in the middle of the rack (the water should reach the middle of the jar).

  3. Following the manufacturer's instructions, close the lid of the multicooker and prepare it for use. Set the pressure cooker to high heat for 35 minutes (see Note).
  4. After the pressure cooker cycle has completed, follow the manufacturer's instructions to release the pressure and wait for the cycle to complete. Being careful not to burn yourself with residual steam, open and remove the lid.
  5. Carefully remove the foil and transfer the hot dulce de leche to a medium bowl. Stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.

    Note

Multicooker settings may vary depending on the model. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions when using.
