Dried fruits are good for your heart and brain, they make delicious baked goods, and they're also a great way to cut down on refined sugar without sacrificing flavor. These dried fig and date cookies are quite easy to make if you have store-bought pie dough on hand: spread the chopped dried fruit mixture evenly over a rolled-out dough, roll it up, cut into discs, and bake. To ensure the cookies cut cleanly, let the dough set in the refrigerator. The cookies look very impressive.
