These decadent cinnamon rolls are topped with a rich cream cheese frosting and filled with a rich, spiced filling of nuts and dark brown sugar. You'll fall in love! They're easy to make at home and are so much better than store-bought Cinnabons.

Ingredients:


Yeast dough
  • 2 and 1/4 tsp (1 packet 7 g) active dry yeast
  • 3 cups premium flour + extra for dusting the work surface
  • 2 tbsp melted butter + extra for greasing the bowl and pan
  • 2 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • Additionally: baking dish measuring 22x32 cm.

Filling
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 110 g (8 tbsp) melted unsalted butter

Thick cream cheese frosting
  • 110 g softened cream cheese
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

    Step 1

    Place the yeast in the bowl of a stand mixer, add 1 cup of warm water and stir.

    Fit the mixer with a dough hook and add flour, butter, granulated sugar, salt and egg.

    Knead on medium-low speed until the dough forms a ball that pulls easily away from the sides of the bowl, about 4 minutes.

    Grease a large bowl with oil and transfer the dough to the bowl.

    In a medium bowl, combine nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and butter.

    On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the dough into a 40x30cm rectangle.
