Bruschetta is an appetizer made from a slice of toasted bread topped with two or three perfectly paired ingredients. Like this bruschetta with fig jam, a slice of blue cheese, and a leaf of fresh basil. While the presentation may not be the most elegant and rather simple, its flavor is sure to captivate. Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Half a baguette, cut into 16 slices
  • 2 tbsp fig jam (you can use plum, apricot, etc.)
  • 120 g blue cheese, cut into pieces
  • Torn fresh basil leaves for serving
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

    Step 1
  • Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add baguette slices and toast on both sides until golden brown and crisp, about 8 minutes. Let cool, then spread with a little fig jam. Top with a slice of blue cheese. Sprinkle with basil.
