Bruschetta with figs and blue cheese

Bruschetta is an appetizer made from a slice of toasted bread topped with two or three perfectly paired ingredients. Like this bruschetta with fig jam, a slice of blue cheese, and a leaf of fresh basil. While the presentation may not be the most elegant and rather simple, its flavor is sure to captivate. - 2 tbsp fig jam (you can use plum, apricot, etc.)

- Torn fresh basil leaves for serving

- Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add baguette slices and toast on both sides until golden brown and crisp, about 8 minutes. Let cool, then spread with a little fig jam. Top with a slice of blue cheese. Sprinkle with basil.
