Mashed potatoes, full of color and rich flavors, can be a very filling side dish or a meal in their own right. Boil white potatoes, add fried red bacon, blue cheese, butter, and cream, and mash everything together. The side dish is delicious, and the crispy bacon and savory Gorgonzola make it a special, festive dish.

- 1 tbsp (15 g) butter at room temperature

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Place the potatoes and garlic in a medium saucepan and cover with cold water to a level of 2 cm (0.8 in). Season with salt and bring the water to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, fry the bacon in a skillet until crisp. Transfer to a paper towel to drain excess fat. Chop coarsely and set aside.
- Drain the potatoes and add them to the pan with the cheese, heavy cream, butter, and chopped bacon. Mash them roughly with a potato masher, adding more cream if needed. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
