Blue cheese adds a piquant flavor to quick-cooking polenta.


Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. polenta instant (fine corn grits Extra from the core of corn kernels)
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) butter
  • 1/4 cup crumbled Gorgonzola or any blue cheese, plus more for sprinkling
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh oregano
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Pour 4 cups of water into a saucepan, add salt and bring to a boil. Slowly pour in polenta into boiling water, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring, until the liquid is absorbed and the polenta thickens, 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and let sit, covered, for 10-15 minutes. Stir in the butter, gorgonzola cheese, oregano, and nutmeg.

  • Divide the polenta among plates and sprinkle with more cheese and pepper to taste.
