For a beautiful and unique presentation, cut the romaine lettuce in half and grill it until blackened—the best part. Top with crispy bacon and a quick blue cheese dressing. With minimal effort, you'll have an incredibly delicious salad.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 170 g bacon, cut into pieces
  • 1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 romaine lettuce hearts, halved

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat, about 15 minutes.
  2. Cook the bacon until crispy, about 8 minutes. Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate, reserving the rendered fat in the pan.

  3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine blue cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, 1/4 teaspoon salt and a couple of grinds of black pepper.
  4. Brush the romaine lettuce hearts with the rendered bacon fat and grill until blackened, about 2 minutes. Serve drizzled with the dressing and sprinkled with bacon.
