As a side dish to a meat dish, prepare a quick onion salad right on the grill. It's a great alternative to boring pickled onions. Season the onions with vinegar, oregano, garlic, and bacon and bake in foil. The salad will be incredibly delicious with a tantalizing aroma.

Recipe:


Slice 4 red onions from root to stem. Quarter 8 strips of bacon. Toss with 6 sprigs of oregano, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of red wine vinegar, and 8 cloves of garlic. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Divide the onion salad between two sheets of foil, wrap, and grill over high heat for 15 minutes. Remove the cooked onions from the grill, let them rest, then unwrap the foil.
