Crisp is an American fruit pie topped with a super-crunchy streusel. These pies typically contain a generous amount of butter, which gives the crust its perfect crunch. A more nutritious crisp can be grilled in individual foil packets. To make it, you'll need fresh peach halves. Fill the peaches with a mixture of brown sugar, a little butter, and salt, and grill until the peaches are soft and coated with a delicious caramel. Serve topped with crunchy and healthy granola. Low-calorie yogurt ice cream is the perfect pairing for this dessert.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) butter, cut into small pieces
  • A pinch of coarse salt
  • 4 ripe peaches
  • 4 tbsp granola
  • 4 1/4 cup servings reduced-fat vanilla frozen yogurt (optional)
  • Special equipment: heavy-duty foil

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

Cut four square sheets of heavy-duty foil to size.
  2. Combine sugar, butter and salt in a small bowl.

  3. Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits. Fill each half with the sugar mixture.
  4. Place two peach halves, filling side down, in the center of each sheet of foil. Gather the foil at the sides and crimp the edges tightly to form four parcels.
  5. Place the parcels on the grill, close the lid, and grill for 15 minutes, rotating the parcels halfway through. (You can remove the parcels at any time, open them, and check the peaches for doneness. Be careful not to burn yourself with steam.) Remove the parcels from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  6. Carefully open each packet (hot steam will escape) and use a spoon or fork to turn the peach halves over; they should be tender and coated in the caramelized sauce. Top each serving with 1 tablespoon of granola and a dollop of frozen yogurt, if desired.
