Fried polenta

Add crispy polenta to your holiday appetizers. Despite its simplicity, this appetizer is sure to please everyone. To prepare, buy pre-made polenta, cut it into thin slices, and fry in butter until crispy. Serve as crackers or layer vegetables and cheese on polenta slices for mini sandwiches.


Ingredients:

  • 500 g polenta
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Cut one 500g package of prepared polenta into 1cm thick slices. Heat 0.5cm of vegetable oil in a large nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Step 2
  • Dredge the polenta in flour and fry a few at a time until golden brown, 3-4 minutes per side (add more oil if needed). Transfer to a wire rack to drain, sprinkle with salt and grated Parmesan.
