The combination of sweet baked figs and nuts makes these toasts a sophisticated holiday appetizer. Toasted slices of multigrain bread are spread with a soft and rich cream of mixed nuts whipped with ricotta, honey, and cinnamon, and served with a delicious fig halves. Before serving, sprinkle the appetizer with chopped nuts and arrange it beautifully on a platter.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 8-10 fresh figs, halved
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 cup roasted salted nut mix + chopped nuts for topping
  • 1 tbsp. l. peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup ricotta
  • 2 tbsp honey + extra for drizzling
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Toasted multigrain bread for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the figs in a baking dish and toss with olive oil and a pinch of salt. Bake until soft, about 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a food processor, pulse the nuts and peanut butter until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the processor. Add the ricotta, honey, and cinnamon and pulse again for about 1 minute.

  3. Spread the ricotta mixture on the bread and top with baked figs. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
