Greek yogurt with figs, dates and honey - a detailed recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 6 fresh or dried figs, quartered
  • 6 pitted dates, chopped
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cups natural yogurt
  • Mint leaves for decoration
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Toast the nuts in a frying pan over medium heat until fragrant. Transfer to a plate. Once cool enough to avoid burning your hands, chop them coarsely.

    Place the figs, dates, honey, water, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook for about 10 minutes, until the fruit is soft. Let cool slightly, then remove the cinnamon stick.
  • Step 2
  • Place the yogurt in a large bowl. Place the warm fruit on top and gently swirl the spoon around the yogurt to create swirls. Sprinkle with nuts and garnish with mint leaves. Serve immediately.
