Crostini are a traditional Italian appetizer that's perfect for a picnic. They're best assembled just before serving to prevent the bread from getting soggy. Orange zest is a key ingredient, and the nutty flavor of hazelnuts brings everything together harmoniously. Instead of the figs or strawberries suggested in the recipe, you could top them with, for example, sliced ​​plums.

  • 1 baguette, cut into 0.6 cm thick slices.
  • 1 and 1/4 cups ricotta
  • 1/4 cup clover honey
  • 1 orange
  • 1/3 cup toasted, chopped, and peeled hazelnuts
  • Figs or strawberries, cut into quarters

  • Preheat oven (conventional or overhead) or grill to medium-high.

    Toast the bread until lightly golden brown on both sides. It should be crispy but still soft inside, not crumbly.
