The easiest roast beef recipe that won't take much time. Simply place a piece of beef (preferably chuck or shoulder) on a baking sheet and roast until tender. Use the juices and fat left in the pan to make a delicious gravy for the roast beef. All you need is flour and beef broth.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1.5-1.8 kg beef (thigh or neck)
  • 1 and 3/4 cups beef broth
  • 3 tbsp. flour

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Place the beef in a baking dish. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour or until tender, basting occasionally with 1/2 cup of broth. Remove the beef from the dish and keep warm. Drain any fat from the dish, reserving 1 tablespoon.
  2. Add flour to the pan and stir in the remaining fat. Gradually add the remaining broth. Cook, stirring, over medium heat until the gravy comes to a boil and thickens. Season with salt to taste, if necessary. Serve the roast beef with the gravy.
