Ingredients for the recipe:
- 1 tuna fillet (200-225 gr.)
- Salt and ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp plus 2 tbsp olive oil
- A pinch of thyme and tarragon
- 2 tablespoons medium-chopped macadamia nuts
- 1 teaspoon very finely chopped shallot
- 1 teaspoon very finely chopped garlic
We recommend
Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Season the tuna with salt and pepper, 1/4 teaspoon olive oil, thyme, and tarragon. Press a tablespoon of chopped macadamia nuts onto each side.
- Place the garlic, shallot and 2 tablespoons olive oil in a skillet and heat over high heat until the oil begins to shimmer.
Carefully place the fish in the pan and sear for 15 seconds per side for rare meat, or 30 seconds per side for medium-rare. If you prefer your fish well-done, start cooking it over low heat and continue cooking until done. Mahi-mahi or ono can also be cooked this way.
Serve with your favorite potato or vegetable dish.
