Tuna in curry sauce - a detailed recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 3 jars (170 g each) tuna in its own juice
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 crushed cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of crushed ginger root
  • 2 tbsp. cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp hot curry powder
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon or lime
  • Feta cheese for sprinkling
  • Freshly chopped cilantro (1/3 - 1/2 cup)
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat until hot. Add the onion and pepper and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes, or until softened. Add the garlic, ginger, and curry powder and continue to cook, stirring, for 2 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Add the anchovies and fry, breaking them up with a spatula. Add the tomatoes, capers, and sugar and simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes.

    Add the tuna, chili, and juice and cook, stirring, until heated through; season with salt and pepper to taste. Add lemon or lime juice and sprinkle with feta and cilantro. Serve with rice.
