The Margarita cocktail can be found on the bar menu of almost any restaurant or club. The originator of the original recipe is shrouded in mystery, and everyone has their own legend. These stories often involve a special woman named Margarita. The cocktail's origins are dated to between 1936 and 1948. This drink is one of the most popular in the world, and now you have the chance to add a touch of spice and give it a new dimension.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Cocktail

  • 90 ml of tequila
  • 1 tbsp seasoned salt, see below
  • 60 ml freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 30 ml syrup, recipe follows
  • 0.5 - 1 teaspoon orange liqueur

Seasoned salt

  • 1/4 cup salt
  • Finely grated zest of one lime
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder with ancho
  • 1/4 teaspoon chipotle chili powder
  • Combine all ingredients

Syrup

  • 1 cup of sugar

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar with 1 cup water. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved (or heat in the microwave). Let cool. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
  2. Sprinkle a plate with spiced salt. Dip the rim of a chilled margarita glass into the salt, coating the outside of the glass. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, lime juice, syrup, and orange liqueur.

  3. Close and shake for about 30 seconds, until combined and chilled (generally, when the shaker begins to fog up, the drink is ready). Strain the Margarita into a prepared glass and serve.
