Puzzle Cookies - a detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


For the test:

  • 2 cups premium wheat flour, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 240 g butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

For decoration:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons of water
  • Colored sugar

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Beat butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Continue beating, then add the egg, then vanilla and almond extract.

    Add the flour mixture and mix until smooth. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  2. Roll out the dough on floured parchment paper to a thickness of 6-7 mm. Trim off any uneven edges, giving the dough a rectangular shape. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C.

    Bake the cake for 12 minutes, until golden brown. Carefully cut the warm cake into puzzle-style squares. Then cool completely.

    Mix powdered sugar with 1-2 tablespoons of water and spread it on top of the cookies, sprinkle with colored sugar.
