Bake some special cookies especially for a special occasion. Yes, they're regular sugar cookies, but sprinkled with sparkling red sugar, they look magical and help create a special atmosphere.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups sifted premium flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup red sugar

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a small bowl, beat the sugar and butter with a mixer until pale and fluffy, about 1-2 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla and continue beating until smooth, another 1-2 minutes. Add the flour and salt to the butter mixture on low speed. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Form the dough into 2 disks. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 45-60 minutes, until firm.
  2. Roll out the dough, cut it out, and sprinkle with red sugar. Place the cookies into desired shapes on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (350°F) for 8-10 minutes.
