Because this cocktail's name evokes Hollywood fashion, it's often prepared for special occasions. While the cocktail always looks equally luxurious—red and sparkling—its ingredients can be quite varied. In this "Red Carpet" version, the gin is tinted with garnet syrup and topped with champagne.


Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 500 ml of gin
  • 1 bottle of champagne
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Combine 3/4 cup pomegranate juice and 1/4 cup sugar in a small saucepan and simmer until reduced by half, about 5 minutes. Add a splash of orange blossom water and let cool to room temperature.
  • Step 2
  • Pour 1-2 teaspoons of syrup into each of 6 glasses. Add a splash of gin and top up with champagne; stir gently.
