A delicious and quick appetizer made with juicy, fresh asparagus and bacon. Each spear is wrapped in a thin slice of bacon and grilled. It's a unique and delicious treat. It's perfect as an appetizer for a holiday table or as a fun treat at a picnic while guests wait for the main course. To prevent the spears from falling through the grill, grill them on wooden skewers or on a special grill rack.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 450 g of medium asparagus
  • 450 g hickory-smoked bacon (thin slices)
  • Special equipment: wooden skewers soaked in water for 30 minutes

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat grill to medium-high direct heat.
  2. Trim the tough ends from the asparagus. Place it on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Season with freshly ground black pepper and salt.

  3. Wrap each asparagus spear with a slice of bacon. Pierce both ends of the asparagus with skewers to secure the bacon. Each skewer should have 3-4 bacon-wrapped asparagus spears.
  4. Grill the asparagus over direct heat until tender and the bacon is crisp, about 15 minutes; flip halfway through. Transfer to a platter, remove the skewers, and serve.
