The more different nuts you use in this toffee mixture, the more interesting its texture and flavor will be. Also, make sure you use salted nuts—this will add a rich, sweet flavor. First, caramelize the sugar, not stirring it, but swirling and shaking the pan so the mixture doesn't stick to your spoon. Then, stir in the butter, nut mixture, and raisins, and pour onto a baking sheet to set. Break the finished toffee into pieces and serve, or divide it into bags and give as gifts. Handmade sweets are always a delight.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 cups salted roasted nut mix
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 110g butter, cut into 4cm cubes + extra for greasing the pan
  • 1.5 cups of sugar
  • 0.5 cups light raisins

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine nuts, vanilla, cinnamon, and cloves in a bowl. Lightly butter a rimmed baking sheet.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the sugar, stirring constantly, until it begins to melt. Cook, swirling the pan but not stirring with a spoon, until most of the sugar has melted, about 10 minutes. Add the butter and continue cooking, swirling the pan, until the mixture turns deep amber and a syrup thermometer registers 150°C (300°F), about 7 minutes more. Remove from heat, stir in the nut mixture, then the raisins. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and smooth out the top with a rubber spatula. Let cool completely, then break the toffee into pieces.
