These yeast buns are made from store-bought dough, and to add a special flavor, brush the surface of each bun with melted butter mixed with chopped rosemary, dried thyme, and lemon zest before baking. Serve in a bread basket for a festive lunch or dinner. Your guests will happily devour these fragrant buns without even realizing they're made from pre-baked ingredients.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 24 frozen buns (dough)
  • 440 g salted butter
  • 1.5 tsp chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1.5 tsp dried thyme
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Special equipment: 2 metal molds for 12 muffins

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Melt 55g (4 tbsp) butter and grease two 12-cup muffin tins. Place frozen muffins in the muffin cups. Cover and let rise for several hours at room temperature or refrigerate overnight.
  2. Melt the remaining 12 ounces (385 g) of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in the rosemary, thyme, and lemon zest and heat through. Lightly brush the risen buns with the butter mixture.

  3. Bake the buns according to package directions (usually at 200°C for 6-8 minutes) until golden brown on top. Brush with additional butter mixture and serve warm.
