This quick Italian pasta is made with just five ingredients: spaghetti, canned tomatoes in their own juice, garlic, olive oil, and Parmesan cheese. Despite its simple ingredients, the dish is incredibly flavorful and delicious. Serve it as a side dish or eat it plain, generously sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, and enjoy!



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 450 g spaghetti
  • 1 can (900 g) of canned whole peeled tomatoes
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • Grated Parmesan, for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add salt. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package directions, then drain.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, combine the tomatoes (with their juice) with the garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon of salt and freshly ground black pepper (grinder several times) in a blender and blend until smooth.

  3. Heat the olive oil in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully pour the tomato puree into the hot oil to avoid splattering and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and stir until completely and evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the spaghetti with grated Parmesan cheese.
