This cashew-based recipe mimics the traditional savory, salty, and cheesy flavor of Parmesan cheese. It only requires five ingredients. Store the vegan Parmesan cheese in a tightly sealed container and sprinkle it generously over your pasta.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 0.5 cup raw cashew nuts
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine cashews, pine nuts, nutritional yeast, salt, and garlic powder in a food processor and pulse until the mixture becomes sand-like.
  2. Transfer to a container, seal tightly and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.

    Nutritional yeast is an inactive yeast culture grown on molasses and contains proteins, lipids, and vitamin B12. It is used in cooking to enhance the cheesy flavor and impart a fluffy texture to curds.
