Time: 40 min.
Complexity: easily
Quantity: 18-22 pcs.

The beauty of this recipe from the cooking show "At Ree Drummond's Ranch" (The Pioneer Woman) is that all the ingredients blend easily in a food processor, and perhaps the best part is that there's no need to roll out the shortcrust pastry. Simply spoon the dough onto a baking sheet and bake until golden brown. For an extra touch of sophistication, brush the savory cookies with softened butter before serving.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 6 cups of flour
  • 4 tbsp. baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 330 g cold butter, cut into cubes
  • 3.5 cups whole milk
  • Softened butter for greasing, optional

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 200C.
  2. Place the flour, baking powder, and salt in a food processor and pulse thoroughly for several minutes. Add the butter and pulse until the butter is incorporated into the dry ingredients. (Or, cut the butter into small pieces and fold it into the dry mixture with a pastry cutter.) Pour in the milk and pulse again until the dough is smooth. Be careful not to overmix.

  3. Using a regular tablespoon, spoon the mixture onto a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until the cookies are evenly golden brown. After baking, brush them with softened butter.
