Milk flan (milk pudding with caramel) - detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 400 gr. condensed milk
  • 1 can of unsweetened coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of water
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 5 eggs of category CO
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • Hot water for a water bath
  • Berries and fruits for decoration

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 150°C.

    Place the sugar in a small saucepan and carefully pour in the water and lemon juice. Do not stir. Bring the contents of the saucepan to a simmer over medium-high heat, without stirring, until the mixture turns golden brown. Divide the caramel among 4 ramekins, filling them 1/4 full.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Add the remaining ingredients and whisk. Pour the batter into the ramekins over the caramel.

    Place the ramekins in a large baking dish and carefully pour hot water around the ramekins until it reaches the center of the dish. This will create a double boiler.

  3. Bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes. The finished flan should jiggle when gently shaken. Remove the ramekins from the water bath and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.

    Run a knife along the edges of the ramekins. Invert the molds onto a plate and garnish with berries and fruit slices.
