Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a 20 x 30 cm glass baking pan and line it with two overlapping strips of parchment paper, allowing the paper to extend over the edges of the pan. Grease the paper with butter.

Make browniesPlace a small saucepan of water over medium heat and bring to a boil. Place a heatproof bowl over the simmering water, add the butter and chocolate, and melt and stir. (You can also use a microwave; heat in 15-second intervals.)
  2. Transfer the chocolate-butter mixture to a large bowl. Add the brown and granulated sugars, eggs, vanilla, and salt and whisk until combined. Add the flour and whisk gently to combine, then pour into the prepared baking pan.

Bake for 25-30 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.

  3. Make butter creamCombine the cream cheese and butter with a mixer, whisking until smooth. Add the crème de menthe and whisk until combined. Gradually add the powdered sugar and whisk until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.

Spread the cream over the cake and refrigerate until set. Remove the brownies from the pan using parchment paper. Cut into pieces.
