Pear skulls in white chocolate glaze - detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 4 pears, medium or large size
  • 1 package white chocolate chips for melting (about 3 cups)
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips for melting

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Remove the stems from the pears. Cut them in half and remove the pits. Insert a paring knife about 1 cm into each pear, then press a flat wooden skewer into the pear until it reaches about halfway through. Place the pears on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave on medium power for 2 to 3 minutes. Hold each pear by the skewer and dip it into the melted chocolate; let any excess drip off, then return the pears cut-side down to the baking sheet.

    While the coating is still wet, melt the dark chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute. Transfer to a plastic bag and snip off a corner. Draw faces on the pears. Let the glaze set for at least 1 hour.
