Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Remove the stems from the pears. Cut them in half and remove the pits. Insert a paring knife about 1 cm into each pear, then press a flat wooden skewer into the pear until it reaches about halfway through. Place the pears on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Melt the white chocolate in the microwave on medium power for 2 to 3 minutes. Hold each pear by the skewer and dip it into the melted chocolate; let any excess drip off, then return the pears cut-side down to the baking sheet.
While the coating is still wet, melt the dark chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute. Transfer to a plastic bag and snip off a corner. Draw faces on the pears. Let the glaze set for at least 1 hour.
