Step-by-step recipe for chai latte with coconut milk and spices.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 cardamom pods
  • 8 carnation buds
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish
  • 5cm piece of fresh ginger, thinly sliced, optional
  • 6 bags of black tea
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk
  • 1 cup unsweetened regular or skim coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp - 1/4 cup brown sugar

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Lightly crush the peppercorns, cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon and place in a medium saucepan. Add ginger, if using. Add 6 cups of cold water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Steep the tea for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let steep for another 10 minutes.
  2. Combine milk and sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Strain the chai mixture into the milk mixture and heat for 1 minute. Whisk until foamy. Pour the spiced chai latte into 4 mugs and garnish with cinnamon sticks.
