Granita with spiced wine - detailed recipe.
The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

- 3 cups of dry red wine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 whole cloves
- 1/2 tsp whole allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
- Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Combine wine, sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, allspice, and peppercorns in a saucepan. Place the saucepan over medium heat and heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Cook for another 5 minutes, then remove from the heat and let steep for 15 minutes.
- Strain the mixture into a 20cm square baking dish and freeze completely, for about 5 hours. Scrape the granita with a fork and spoon into glasses. Serve with whipped cream.
