Granita slush is a cross between shaved ice and a slush drink, reminiscent of melted, fluffy snow. It's often made with fruit puree, and watermelon is perfect for this purpose. It's blended and frozen. You can even take this cooling dessert on a picnic to cool off in hot weather. Simply toss the frozen slush into your picnic bag (it'll serve as a cooler!), and it will thaw slightly on the go, achieving the perfect fluffy consistency. Enjoy a healthy and delicious dessert without the added sugar.

Recipe:

The night before the picnic, puree 6 cups of chopped seedless watermelon in a blender until smooth. Transfer to a shallow, airtight container and freeze. Take the frozen watermelon puree to the picnic (it can serve as an ice pack for other ingredients on the go) and let it thaw slightly, then mash with a fork and spoon into glasses.
