This Italian treat is distinguished by just three ingredients, easy preparation without an ice cream maker, and tons of fun. To freeze the granita, mix pomegranate juice with a small amount of orange juice and sugar to taste. This dessert is incredibly healthy if made with 100% natural juices. The liquid is frozen in the freezer and then scraped with a fork, turning into an easy-to-eat, snow-like mass. The flavor of pomegranate granita is invigorating, perfect for enjoying in the summer heat or refreshing your taste buds after a hearty dinner.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 7 cups of pomegranate juice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp. superfine sugar, or more (to taste)

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a large bowl, combine the two types of juice and sugar to taste. Pour into a 22x32 cm baking dish. Carefully place in the freezer and freeze until completely set, about 4 hours.
  2. Scrape the granita with a fork and spoon the mixture into chilled glasses. Serve immediately.
