How to Make Teriyaki Sauce

Homemade teriyaki sauce is just as delicious and mouth-watering as store-bought, but it contains no preservatives or other unwanted additives—only natural ingredients and a stunning result! The flavor is balanced, sweet and salty, with piquant notes of garlic and ginger. Use it in Japanese-style dishes or add it to your favorite appetizers and meats for an Asian twist.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Sauce

  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp. l. sweet rice wine
  • 1 tbsp + 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1.5 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1.5 tsp chopped ginger

Glaze

  • 0.5 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp. water

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Glaze:

    To make the glaze, mix 0.5 tablespoons of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water. Heat the sauce over medium heat and add the cornstarch-water mixture. Simmer until thickened.
    Exit: 1 tbsp.
