This beautiful and delicious pumpkin-shaped cheese appetizer is perfect for a fall holiday table. Roll a cheese ball from a mixture of cream cheese and cheddar, adding a few green onions, and shape it into a pumpkin. To give the pumpkin a vibrant orange color, roll it in crushed cheese-flavored corn puffs, like Cheetos. Borrow the stem from a sweet pepper. Serve the pumpkin on a platter, arranging crackers around it for guests to spread this delicious appetizer on.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Place the corn flakes in a food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Transfer to a rimmed baking sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar, onion, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Form the mixture into a ball by pressing down on it. Use the tip of a table knife to score the sides down to form a pumpkin shape.

  3. Roll the cheese ball in crushed corn flakes. Use a knife to cut the entire stem off the pepper and place it on top of the cheese ball to resemble a pumpkin stem. Seed and slice the bell pepper. Serve the cheese ball on a plate with crackers and bell pepper pieces.
