Old Bay seasoning is great for more than just fish and seafood. Try roasting butternut squash in it. The spicy flavor perfectly complements the squash's natural sweetness, softening it a bit, making it a great accompaniment to any dish, including fish.


Ingredients:

  • One butternut squash 1 kg.
  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Halve one small butternut squash, peel and seed it, and slice it into 2-cm-thick wedges. Toss with 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning, and 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 425°F (220°C) until lightly browned and tender, 30 to 35 minutes. Serve with lemon wedges.
