A malted milkshake differs from a regular one in its richer, malty flavor, imparted by malted milk powder, in this case, chocolate. As with any milkshake, you'll need milk and vanilla ice cream. Add the malted milk powder and crushed, crunchy malt balls like Whoopers or Maltesers. Don't forget the twist, a delight for adults: Kahlua coffee liqueur. This low-alcohol cocktail makes a pleasant end to dinner, serving as a dessert substitute.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 cup chocolate-covered malt balls, such as Whoppers
  • 0.5 cup whole milk, cold
  • Packaging 1.5 l. vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup coffee liqueur, such as Kahlua
  • 0.5 tbsp. chocolate malt milk powder
  • 1 cup sweetened whipped cream, for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Chill 4-6 tall glasses in the freezer.
  2. Place the crispy balls in a blender and crush them. Set aside about 1/4 cup for serving. Add the milk, ice cream, coffee liqueur, and malted milk powder and blend until thick and smooth.

  3. Pour the cocktail into chilled glasses. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with crunchy pieces. Serve immediately.
