Make a refreshing tropical-flavored sorbet. Blend watermelon pulp with pineapple juice, lime juice, and grenadine, add ginger ale, and freeze in an ice cream maker. You can also make a tropical sorbet for adults by replacing the non-alcoholic ale with dark rum. This dessert will not only cool you down on a hot day but will also significantly lift your spirits!

Ingredients:

  • 1 piece (1 kg) seedless watermelon, rind removed and flesh cut into 2.5 cm pieces (about 3.5 cups)
  • 1 can (180 ml) pineapple juice, chilled
  • 3/4 cup ginger ale, chilled
  • 1/3 cup lime juice (from about 3 large limes)
  • 0.5 cup grenadine
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

  • In a blender, combine watermelon, pineapple juice, ginger ale, lime juice, and grenadine until smooth.
