A refreshing dessert like wine sorbet will not only cool you down in the heat, but also lift your spirits and give you a little buzz. It's perfect for a summer house party! To make it, you only need water, sugar, and wine. Heat the mixture on the stovetop until the sugar dissolves, then cool and freeze in an ice cream maker. This is a basic recipe that you can customize to suit your tastes and use different types of wine. However, keep in mind that fortified wines are more difficult to freeze.


Ingredients:

  • 180 ml of water
  • 110 g of sugar
  • 300-360 ml of red wine
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

  • Combine water and sugar in a saucepan and heat over low heat. Once the sugar has dissolved, add the wine and remove from heat. Cool and prepare the sorbet in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
