Your pizza crust will be especially crispy if baked in a cast iron skillet. Place the dough on a hot skillet coated with olive oil. For toppings, use any tomato sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella pearls (bocconcini). Sprinkle the finished pizza with fresh basil and slice. Once you try this method, you'll want to bake pizza in a skillet forever!

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 450g frozen pizza dough, thawed and let rise
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 0.5 cup store-bought pizza sauce
  • 0.5 cup pepperoni
  • 110 g fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 1/4 cup torn fresh basil

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Place a 12-inch cast iron skillet in the oven and preheat to 500°F (260°C).
  2. Meanwhile, roll or stretch the dough into a 35 cm (14 in) circle. Carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Pour two-thirds of the olive oil into the skillet, then carefully transfer the dough to the pan, pressing it down around the edges. Spread the sauce over the dough, making sure it reaches the very edges. Top with pepperoni and mozzarella pearls. Brush the remaining olive oil over the visible dough. Bake on the bottom rack until golden brown, 12-14 minutes.

  3. Transfer the pizza to a cutting board and sprinkle with basil, cut into slices and serve.
