A classic corn casserole is topped with plenty of sharp cheddar and green onions for the perfect touch. All ingredients, including canned corn and cornmeal, are simply mixed together in a bowl, then tossed into a casserole, and in about half an hour, the fragrant, fluffy, golden-brown casserole is ready. A perfect treat for the fall holidays.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 can (425g) canned corn, drained
  • 1 can (425 g) creamed corn
  • 1 large egg
  • 1.5 cups grated sharp cheddar
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 90 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 175°C.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all the corn, creamed corn, egg, cheddar, cornmeal, sour cream, butter, chives, sugar, baking soda, 1.5 teaspoons of salt, and plenty of black pepper. Mix until smooth.

  3. Place everything in a 2-quart baking dish and bake until lightly golden brown and the casserole is set inside, 30 to 35 minutes.
