This cocktail is a super-light version of a Bloody Mary. It's made with vodka and tomato water, which is obtained by straining the liquid from chopped fresh tomatoes. A balsamic glaze gives the drink its unique flavor. Simply brush it along the rim of the glass and enjoy!



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Balsamic vinegar and agave nectar glaze

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 tbsp. agave nectar

Cocktail

  • 60 ml fresh tomato water (not canned juice)
  • 45 ml basil-infused vodka, recipe below
  • 1 leaf of fresh basil for garnish

Basil-infused vodka

  • 1 (0.75 l) bottle of vodka
  • 1 bunch of fresh basil leaves

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Balsamic vinegar and agave nectar glaze:

    Combine the balsamic vinegar and agave in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer until the mixture thickens. Set aside to cool slightly. Brush the rim of the glass with the glaze.
  2. Cocktail:

    Pour fresh tomato water and basil-infused vodka into a cocktail shaker, add large ice cubes, shake vigorously, and double strain into a prepared glass. Top with foam, garnish with a basil leaf, and serve.

    Tomato water:

    Line a sieve with cheesecloth and place it over a bowl. Puree 1–2 plum tomatoes in a blender. Pour the mixture into the sieve and strain.

  3. Basil-infused vodka:
    Output: 750 ml.

    Pour vodka over basil leaves and let steep for at least 2 days. Strain before using.
