Melissa De Arabian not only bakes the ham in a mixture of cinnamon and cherry preserves, along with horseradish for a hint of tang, but also serves the meat with the remaining glaze as a sauce so guests can customize it to their tastes.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • Cooking spray
  • 1 (2.3 kg) cooked boneless ham
  • 1/2 cup water or white wine
  • 1 cup cherry jam
  • 1 tbsp. prepared horseradish
  • 1 full tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a roasting pan with foil and spray with cooking spray.
  2. Using a small, sharp knife, make cross-shaped cuts on the top and sides of the ham. Place the meat in a roasting pan, pour 1/2 cup of water or white wine into the bottom, and bake, covered with foil, for 45-60 minutes.

  3. For the glaze, combine the jam, horseradish, brown sugar, cinnamon, cumin, cardamom, salt, and lemon juice in a medium bowl. Transfer the cherry mixture to a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook until the glaze thickens slightly, 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon zest.
  4. Remove the ham from the oven and brush the surface with 1/4 cup of the glaze. Bake, uncovered, for about 20 minutes, or until heated through and a thermometer inserted into the center registers 140°F (60°C). Remove the ham from the oven, place it on a cutting board, and let it rest for 10 minutes. Then slice. Place the sliced ​​meat on a serving platter and serve with the remaining glaze.
