Flatbreads with Feta Cheese Dipping Sauce - a detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 450 g crumbled feta cheese
  • 12 green onions with heads (grill the green parts and chop them, slice the heads into thin rings for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, plus more for frying the flatbreads
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp finely chopped lemon zest
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 8 pita bread

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Place the grilled onion, oil, lemon juice, and zest in a food processor and process until smooth. Add the feta cheese and garlic and process again until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and garnish with chopped green onions.
  2. Preheat the grill to high. Brush the pitas with the remaining oil and season with salt and pepper to taste. Grill for about a minute on each side, until lightly golden brown. Remove from the grill and cut each pita into 8 wedges. Serve with cheese dipping sauce.
