The foundation of Mexican fast food is tortillas made from wheat or corn flour and seasoned with spices, most notably chili peppers and salsa. A tortilla folded in half, filled with cheese and grilled on both sides, is called a quesadilla. A quesadilla (from queso (cheese) and tortilla) is a vibrant, flavorful, filling, and delicious Mexican snack. If you're looking forward to a morning meal, make a dessert quesadilla with fruits you typically eat for breakfast to whet your appetite, like bananas, apples, or strawberries, and pair them with a dessert cheese like Brie or Camembert.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Quesadilla

  • 60 g of cream cheese as a spread
  • 8 tortillas
  • 250 g Brie cheese, cut into thin strips
  • 1 thinly sliced ​​apple

Strawberry Apple Dipping Sauce

  • 250 g of strawberry jam
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 1 pinch of ground cinnamon

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat a grill pan over medium heat. Grease it with oil or nonstick cooking spray before cooking.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly among 4 tortillas. Then evenly distribute the Brie strips. Place apple slices on top of the cheese. Top with the remaining tortillas to make 4 quesadillas.

  3. Grill each quesadilla for 3 minutes per side or until golden brown. Use a spatula to flip the tortilla. Once the quesadilla is browned on both sides, remove from heat and let cool for about 2 minutes before slicing.
  4. Cut each quesadilla into 6 pieces and serve warm. Serve with applesauce, peel back the tortilla, and spoon the sauce into the filling.

    For apple sauce: Mix all ingredients in a deep bowl and microwave for 1-2 minutes until the sauce is hot.
